Meet The Team
The practice wouldn’t be successful without the wonderful staff, all of whom are integral to the smooth running of the business.
Meet the team
Step 1
Our Diagnostic Suite
Before you see Davina or Fiona, one of our trained team members will take OCT photos and 3D scans of the back of your eye (the retina) as well as checking your field of vision.
We have a new addition to our diagnostic suite in 2021, the Optomap, which has now been launched and is included as part of all eye examinations.
The images are pain free and quick to capture giving enhanced analysis of your retinal health.

Step 2
OCT Overview and Optomap interpretation and analysis with Davina or Fiona, our Optometrists
We encourage all of our patients to have regular OCT scans. The scans show accurate details about your eyes and help us to spot any changes in the future. This is particularly useful for patients worried about AMD (age related macula degeneration), glaucoma, and ‘flashes and floaters’. OCT is also a valuable diagnostic tool to examine the retina for those with diabetes or people who have close relatives with glaucoma since subtle changes can be detected and monitored more accurately.
Davina and Fiona will go through the images from the OCT in more detail with you during your consultation.
The Optomap is the newest addition to our diagnostic suite. We are excited to have launched this to all patients this Autumn 2021 and it really compliments the retinal health examination we are able to offer. This fantastic piece of equipment allows us to view up to 200 degrees of the retina compared to about 45 degrees we get with other imaging equipment. This allows us to examine the peripheral retina better than ever without the need to dilate your pupils and the images are captured in moments.

Step 3
Consultation and Eye Exam with Davina or Fiona
After going through the results of your OCT, Davina or Fiona will then start a consultation with you which is when they will ask about any symptoms you may have, take down history of your health and any additional information about your occupation or hobbies. You will then have visual acuity measured which includes; checking your vision on the Thomson Test Chart 2000 and verifying your prescription.
Davina or Fiona will also make recommendations suited to the measurements and outcomes of your consultation.
You will have tonometry performed to check the pressure of your eyes, as well as any other relevant tests and examinations necessary to your needs.
